Happy Teachers Day

This post is dedicated to all the teachers who has ever taught me (unfortunately, haha)
And to one of the best teachers I ever had, who has just passed away recently
And I pray the heavens will accept her, love her surpassing all she has ever done for us
I never was the ‘in’ group, but she never was judgmental, never condemned me
Though my actions sometimes reflected otherwise, I had always respect and love her for that
I feel bad for not being able to see her for the last time
I feel even worse for not being able to tell her I’m sorry
Show her the amends I have made

Ever since the news reached me
The last memory I had with her has been playing in my head over and over again
It’s quite embarrassing though. Haha
Well, I used to be so freaking dumb in Bahasa Melayu
So dumb that she had to put me in her Pemulihan Bahasa Melayu class
One time, I skipped her class and went to do stupid things stupid teenagers like me did back then
And just before I went back home, I sneaked back to school to take my stuff
I suddenly met her at the stairs near the café (Matrians would know where)
And she chased me right into class with her umbrella! I never had a chance against her
It was so scary I tell you, she was so faaast for a 60-70 year old women
Man, the energy that woman had. Haha
I still skipped other classes after that, but never her class
I am still dumb in Bahasa Melayu though. Haha
But the way she believed in me, the way she never looked at me the way some other teachers did – that your-unfixable look, had always been one of the essence that drives me today

I’m sorry Ummi Halimaton, for being one of your most difficult students
And thank you for all the love, understanding and faith you had for, well, all your students

Sekarang, BM ko dah ok apa. =)

Anyway, some teachers had faith in us, despite our inconsistencies and slacking offs. They might be harsh, teaching us the hard way, but they have never ever turned their backs on us.

Now we realized that most of the teachers that taught us the hardest way were the teachers of whose lesson we still remember to this day. Betul tak?

My Al-Fatihah to your Ummi Halimaton who have taught you well beyond the classroom lesson. =)
